Best refrigerator I've ever had

My new home came with a $5000 Bosch refrigerator, which lasted 7 years and there were no replacement parts. My repairman recommended GE. I love my new GE refrigerator. It doesn't make all the popping noises like the Bosch did and it's so quiet, I don't even know it's running. The French doors close easily and don't have to be pushed to seal like the Bosch. Both the refrigerator and the freezer got very cold within about an hour. I would recommend GE to anybody interested in buying a high-quality refrigerator.

Excited about our new French Door Fridge!

We originally picked out a different fridge but upon delivery it was determined that we needed counter depth to install the new fridge. Our old fridge was a French door set up with lower freezer area. The new one was the same kind, but newer, with the water coming from inside the fridge. Granted the newer fridge is a little bit smaller, not as deep, as the old fridge so there is a slight loss in overall storage, but the lighting, drawers and shelving work very well. The install crew was excellent and overall it was a very positive experience! The fridge cooled down quite quickly, as well as ice making and temperature with zero noise for the condenser. Don't have to worry about which door closes first so the seal is excellent!

I am loving my new refrigerator! It's so nice and sleek. It doesn't overtake the kitchen. Loving not having an outside water and ice dispenser. The water dispenser is inside, tucked away. The freezer makes a ton of ice And the frig holds a ton of groceries. I never hear it running, so it is quiet as well.

Hate the cheep shelves with limited spacing options. Split shelf is a lost attempt at making up for shelf flexibility. I lost a queart of my own made maple syrup the first day. Maybe my falult for inserting a shelf where it wasn't supposed to be. Imagine cleaning a quart of malpe syrup mixed with broken glass. Another shelf came off the next day but nothing broke. I have also had plenty of condensation on the top ledge of the freezer door. too much time required to clean doors of prints too!

the water dispenser is horrible, if you're lucky you can get 1 cold glass of water, it's just a coil of tubing, no reservoir. The button to push for the water dispenser and the little tube the water comes out is also poor, the drawers in freezer are cheaply built and don't open very fr to get thing out.

DO NOT BUY! The only thing good about this refrigerator is the lighting. It is noisy, food on the top shelf will freeze, the water dispenser is hard to push and many cups and glasses will not even fit under the short spout. Shelves have limited adjustments, the drawers are too shallow , and the bottom shelf on the door is so small it is mostly useless. But the WORST is the ice maker. The arm that is suppose to turn the ice make off when the bin is full is poorly designed and does not work, so ice spills out on the floor all the time. After 3 months and many calls to customer service ( who promise to call me back and NEVER have) and several service calls I was told after the service tech melted and bent the arm, there were no further repairs and it works as designed. So it was designed not to work!!!

Defective Refrigerator/Freezer

Purchased 4/1/26 and has been freezing and thawing in Ref, ice built up on freezer walls fan grinding on ice buildup and then system goes into thaw, water runs onto my floor. The cycle repeats every 5 days. Have had GE assigned repair company visit 3 times and a fourth visit is scheduled next week. Asking for a replacement appliance as we have not been able to use this since purchased ™€¦104 days now.

Disappointing Temp Control on Bottom Freezer

Have owned for just 5 days. But temperature control on bottom freezer is of concern. Temp will increase by 15-20 degrees after freezer drawer is open for less than one minute - if the compressor happens to be off at the time. Then will take several hours to get back to set point (0 degrees). It will stay at least 30 minutes between 20-30 degrees before starting to cool back down. While technically still below freezing not what I expected from a new GE unit. If compressor is running when I open the freezer drawer, the temp rise still occurs, but is reasonable and recovers quickly. I cannot time when I need to open the freezer and when the compressor is running.

The refrigerator is very nice, but the bottom freezer drawers and door are super flimsy. The freezer does not close smoothly unless it is totally aligned manually with the inside drawers. I wish we had known this or we would have chosen another model. We were also not prepared for the refrigerator to roll away from the wall toward us every time we open the refrigerator or freezer doors. The inside light does not always go on consistently when the left refrigerator door is opened singly. What is your recommendation for the above concerns?

QUIET, ATTRACTIVE, PERFECT FIT

MODEL GWE22JYMFS - I ordered not having seen the model in person. My concerns were how reflective, how quiet, and how much wider do the doors open at the hinge at 90 degree angle. PERFECTLY PLEASED that the stainless does not reflect image clearly but appropriately shadowed. The fridge runs quietly. It has a very low hum different than my previous GE model, but not distracting, and not heard unless house totally quiet. The door projects 3/4 of an inch wider than the refrigerator when opened at 90 degrees Well lit with 3 lights in fridge -and one in freezer. Dark gray side panels. Happy the handles perfectly match my GE dishwasher handle purchased 6 years ago. Capacity suitable for my needs.

I™€™ve had this fridge for four months. I like the size of the fridge and freezer and the fingerprint proof stainless steel. Overall, I think it™€™s a great fridge. What I don™€™t are the produce drawers. They seem smaller than my last fridge and they only open half way making it difficult to put larger items inside. The freezer makes great ice but too much of it is dispensed and it falls inside the back of the freezer which is not easy to access. Other than that, I™€™m very happy and would recommend this fridge.

My 12 year old French door fridge died and needed one quick with holidays approaching. Thus unit weighs just half the prior and is 3 cu feet smaller. The freezer door is easier to pull out and the freezer compartment is small. I have a freezer in the garage. We keep a lot of beverages (wine, milk, creamer, beer, sodas cold. I just went out and bought a small separate fridge to accommodate these. Had I the time to do more research I would not likely purchased this model. If you need a small to medium sized fridge don™€™t hesitate to purchase this GE model . It is quiet and does not seem to run much.

We don™€™t like the freezer. This is our first bottom freezer and the drawer/slides feel cheap and wobbly. Not very spacious but we did get a counter depth and knew we would be losing some space. We love the top refrigerator part.

A right-sized option for a counter depth refrigerator. Plenty of space for a couple or a small family. Chills very well. Freezer smallish if you want to keep a whole chicken oy turkey. Ice maker works well.

Freezer capacity is lacking - get another box freezer to compensate - which is what we needed anyway. Appearance and refig are great. to include the water dispenser inside frig is great.

LOUD Refrigerator!

I like the capacity of the refrigerator. Freezer space could be larger. Refrigerator is VERY loud. I can hear it running in the next room. I wouldn't purchase this refrigerator again because of the noise. Water dispenser inside the needs to be reworked. You should be able to press a button with a cup instead of having to hold the button down with your finger to fill the cup. This is very awkward to do.

We love our new French-Door GE fridge. The capacity is good if you need room in your kitchen it's good enough for a family of 3-4 and fits well like any other standard fridge. The cooling works great no issues with that. The Energy efficiency is good. The frige is quite except when making ice and the bucket is empty you can her it dropping into the tray. The shelving is decent for what you pay for.
